Pokemon Names

Ok, so i get pokemon is really just inspired by real live animals.
For instance:

rattata- rat
pidgey- pidgeon
shinx- lynx
arcanine- canine (dog)
etc u get the point

then there are random pokemon like
DEOXYS- the DNA pokemon, dna as deoxyribonucleic acid
EKANS which is snake spelled backwards.
theres also ARBOK, which is kobra spelled backwards and is a wordplay

yeah seriously Pokemon has gotten lazy with names cause theres so many of them. i want a pokemon based off a chimera.

Hey but then the names that goes backwards are pretty good name for the pokemon.

soon they're gonna use something like eagle, and rearrange it into 'lagee' (play around for lagging wifi)

wifi doesnt usually lag for me

snorlax reminds me of snoring and laxatives haha

am not into names much but the best name i had was balzer my charmander

Bulbapedia talked about the origin of a few pokemon including mawile, manaphy, and castform.

Lax- Relax

Bulbapedia states the name origin of nearly every pokemon, so if you're curious how a pokemon acquired its name, look it up on that site

And it isn't that they're getting lazy, it's that they've always been lazy. If anything I think they're getting more creative. Chimchar was a cute name, it made me chuckle the first time I heard/saw it. Doing a tiny bit of editing in the first post for age-appropriate content

I dislike the fact of Mr. Mime's name being what it is in the English translation. His Japanese name has nothing reference to gender and now that there is gender out.. Having a female Mr. Mime makes it awkward. We'll never see a Mrs. Mime either, because of the fact that the Japenese version doesn't have anything to deal with gender..
