OFFICIAL BATTLE RULES

As a moderater I find it necesary to set up rules for battling. These are the standard rules and may be changed at the descretion of each person baced on pre battle arrangements.

Evasion Clause
Moves that boost evasion (i.e. Double Team and Minimize) are not allowed.

Freeze Clause
Two or more Pokémon on a team cannot be frozen at the same time.

Sleep Clause
Two or more Pokémon on a team cannot be asleep at the same time. Self-induce sleep via rest does not activate Sleep Clause.

OHKO Clause
One-Hit KO moves (such as sheer cold) are not allowed.

Species Clause
Two or more of the same Pokémon may not be used on the same team.

Self KO Clause
If both players have only one Pokémon left, moves which KO both the user and the opponent are not allowed (e.g. Explosion, Destiny Bond). If recoil damage would cause a tie, Self KO Clause does not activate, and the player who last attacked is the winner.

Uber Clause
These pokemon are not allowed unless this clause is null/voided by the person making the tournament or by two battlers before a battle.

Legend Clause
Non-uber legendaries may be used unless banned by tournament creater or by mutual agreement before a battle.

Hackd Pokemon

Hacked Pokemon are defined as Pokemon that have moves that it cannot learn in gameplay or in event pokemon. Also, any one pokemon may only have 510 Effort Values (this is enough to max out 2 stats and boost a thrid by a miniscule amount). Maxing out more than 2 stats is hacking. Hacks may never be used. Also a hack is a pokemon that has an ability that it cannot learn in the game (such as a levitate ludicolo or a wonderguard garchomp) No one may nullify this rule. This is very important. When we get into battling with other sites we will be a laughing stock if we go in there with more than 2 maxed stats.

Amendment 1:
Hax items are banned.

Hax items are items that boost a pokemon's random stats such as accuracy or quick claw's speed disruption. These are hax items.

If there are found to be more they will be posted here aswell. This is the most negotiable rule and will remain in non-effect unless specified by battlers or tournament starters. (i.e. standard rules plus hax having them banned clause and standard rules having them not banned.)

Also, if it seems reasonable to me that sence most torunament prizes are poketokens that tournaments can only be started by people who are senior moderators or higher.

Why can`t people freeze, and explode and stuff. Alot of this doesn`t seem fair. Maybe I wanna use ice beam what if i freeze on accident.

u can freeze them but no more then 1 at a time and explode is only when it's 1 vs 1 at the end of the game that u can't do it

Freeze hax with ice beam and stuff is FINE. It cant be helped. Exploding has been a question sence the first generation. Most civilized people say no suicide clause. Remember a few things: all of these rules can be bent at players' discretion in battles and can be bent for a tournament (however everyone will have to obey the same rules in a tournament baced on how one sets them up) I took most of these from smogon. These are the standard rules for most sites.

Most if not all of these rules are there to make battling more fair. When this site becomes the envy of competitive battling as it is destined to be we are going to be using these rules. There isnt much point in rejecting them now sence we will have to adopt them eventually.

I don't see why we should vote for it since it's not an obligation to follow these rules. Everybody fights like he wants after all no?

Landon, it was a good idea to put the standard rules, because in the last mini-tournament there were a lot of misunderstandings people were wondering what was the real rules, so good job
