This method is BEAST. I've gotten many shinys off of this.

CoolCat, you must first use the PokeRadar in DPPt. You go into a shaking patch of grass. Then beat or catch the wild Pokemon (Don't run, it breakes the chain). Go to the farthest away patch of grass that you can get ,and make sure that it's the same type of patch as before. You also should use a Repel before, too.

A way to help your chain is to go after a swarming pokemon.

When it is swarming the chance of it appearing will be much higher

The chances are still low, but so much better than 1/8192

Once you get to a chain of 40, don't chain anymore. Your chances won't increase. At this point I think there's a 1/200 or something chance of running into a shiny.

Just keep resetting the pokeradar until a patch of grass glows twice.
In that patch of grass there's a 50% chance of getting a shiny there
