If I could only use one type, I'd have to go with water. The first Poke I had back in the days of Red and Green was Squirtle, and I've loved that type more than the rest since then.

I would choose flying because there are so many type possibilities. Plus they can be unpredictable.

I would use Electric, because thats my favorite type and its very helpful against water types, but rock and ground and fighting would kill me.
EDIT: some people need to put why they picked that type.

I prefer grass- types because two of my favorite pokemon are grass, but I also like normal type because they often can have very varied movesets and my third favorite pokemon is normal- type.

Water or Ghost Water + Normal is almost perfect coverage and Ghost + Fighting is Perfect coverage =D ^^
