Pokemon Strategy Empty Re: Pokemon Strategy

Post by Sure Thu Jul 09, 2009 1:47 pm

I guess this is a good wall strat. Belly drum, Rest, sleep talk, zen headbutt. It has it's weaknesses and it's easy to counter but if you can pull it off it can get you pretty far.
A hacked strat; Bronzong Curse, trick room, gyro ball, Earthquake. Hack Curse for the bronzong, use it so that it maximizes your attack and lowers your speed, use trick room to attack first. It should do good damage considering gyro ball works better with the lower your speed. The earthquake is for any steel type pokes. Again easy to counter but it'd put your opponent's panties in a bunch.
And lastly a good strat for pika fans. Have another poke from your party put the opponent to sleep have this moveset: Substitute, wish, nasty plot, thunder or thunderbolt (Which ever you like.) Use the few turns you have since the opponent is asleep, use sub, then nasty plot till your Sp.attack is max then use wish to regain health. It would also help to have the pika hold Lightball. This strat is probably the most easiest to counter out of the three since all your opponent has to do is switch to a ground type so be careful Wink

Hope this inspired someone lol.

Lanturn

Moveset:
Thunderbolt
Surf
Ice Beam
Rest

Item: Chesto Berry
Ability: Volt Absorb
Nature: Modest

EV special defence, special attack and speed

Can take out almost everything except fast physical attackers, the set is a unique one I made, its not smogon.

Its kinda like starmie without the electric weakness and can take hits better. Some people will thunderbolt you thinking its water and with the volt absorb ability its free heals.

This is one UU pokemon that can actually mop the floor with alot of OU's

Pokemon Strategy Empty Stalling strategy

Post by Nightmare Thu Jul 09, 2009 9:39 pm

Stalling

In this strategy, you will either try to stall out your opponent out of PP, or stall them to let Toxic or Burn take place and slowly wear down your opponent.

Some commonly used moves for stalling are Substitute, Protect, Detect, Leech Seed, Toxic, Will-O-Wisp, Toxic Spikes, Roar, Stealth Rock, Spikes, recover moves (Roost, Softboiled, Recover, Rest, etc.), Sandstorm, Hail. Basically any move that either Recovers your Hp or imobilizes your opponent from Attacking you directly, and any moves that slowly drain your opponents Hp.

Some commonly used Pokemon are Skarmory, Blissey, Shuckle, Gliscor, Forretress, and any Pokemon who can set up Toxic Spikes/Spikes/Stealth Rock and are Bulky. Sceptile also works with great speed and the Sub-Seeding Combo. Most stall teams work under Hail or Sandstorm, and include either Abomasnow, Tyranitar, and Hippowdon to get the Sandstorm and Hail started. Sandstorm and Hail each do 1/16 damage each turn, and with added Poison or Burn, your opponent will be crushed if you keep Protecting, Detecting and Substituting up while they take damage each turn!

Magikarp with focus slash.

When it has 1 hp switch out too a smeargle at the best time you can.

spore+sub+bellydrum+batonpass to give on the stats of smeargle on to magikarp and dont forget the boost of the berry for what i called.

Then magikarp would have atleast over 700 atk.

if you have this random obsession with any fire types that know flash fire, here's a strategy:
(this only works in double battles)

have the pokemon with flash fire as one of the pkmn and the other pkmn be one that knows will-o-wisp.
use will-o-wisp on the FIRE TYPE that has flash fire as it's ability. i think the fire type won't be burned by the will-o-wisp and it's fire attack moves will go up by 150%.

tell me how well this works all you double battlers!

Yeah there are things similar to this that work well. Like using electivire (has motor drive) and a pokemon with discharge. When you use discharge electivire will get its speed boosted by 1.5. Also volt absorb can be useful. Have a pokemon with voltabsorb and a pokemon with discharge, use discharge and the pokemon with volt absorb will restore 1/4 of its max hp and will hit the opponents. This also works with water absorb, have a pokemon with water absorb (vaporeon is a good choice) and a pokemon with surf. Surf will hit the water absorb pokemon, restoring 1/4 of its hp and hit both enemys with it.
Another strategy that could be good is have a pokemon with lightning rod (rhyperior or marowak is a good choice) and a pokemon 4x weak to electric types (like gyarados or mantine) and your pokemon will be protected from the electric moves your opponenet uses.

kyogre is a prime example of one of the cheapest users of weather. others include tyranitar(boosts spdef by 50%) and groudon(solarbeam). sadly kyogre and groudon are uber.
