I've seen Kiki's Delivery Service, Totoro, and Spirited Away. HE WAS A DRAGON AND A RIVER? WHAT?!

No. He actually was the river... It talked about how she swam in him or something.PokeCenter wrote:He was named after the river.

Re: Miyazaki Movies
He was a magical river spirit and he can apparently turn into a dragon too or he is a dragon that is a river spirit ... something like that

You sure? I found this --- Kohaku (Haku) is actually a twelve-year-old river spirit.

Re: Miyazaki Movies
Spirit of the river does mean that he is the river. If I were a ghost, you wouldn't call me "Spirit of Ichimarunico, an entirely different entity", I'd be both Ichimarunico and my ghost. Unless it was like.. mirror-mirror Nico. That would be awesome... what was I talking about?PokeCenter wrote:adoxography wrote:No. He actually was the river... I enjoyed Spirited Away, but I kind of think it's overrated. It's original, the art's good, but... it just doesn't shout "Oh my god greatest movie ever!!" like the typical reaction is toward it. Honestly I thought Princess Mononoke was a better film if you could get over the bad voice-overs.

That's my point exactly. I think that what the others were trying to imply is that the river and the spirit of the river were two separate entities, but they were one in the same--at least for a period of time, seeing as she swam in him. I don't care to argue semantics. It was just a little odd to me.
Anyway... My Neighbor Totoro was my favorite by far. I love the cat-bus, and I love how Totoro stands out in the rain waiting with an umbrella. Totoro reminds me of a much-cuter snorlax.
