Shiny Pokemon in Anime?

Just wondering if anyone knows:
Has there ever been any mention of Shiny Pokemon in the Anime?
Either someone talking about them or owning one.

I just think it'd be neat if they did, but I stopped watching after elementary school, and I have no idea.

Yeah, the Shiny Swellow owned by that gym leader in OMG NOOO NETHERLANDS ALMOST SCORED!

As to the question, there are several shiny pokemon in the series. I know of Ditto, Celebi, and the Swellow he's talking about. I don't watch the anime, though, so I don't know specifics.

Sorry I just said that randomly, i felt it needed to be known. It is the worlds biggest sporting event, after all. But yeah the ditto was pink or purple, if im not mistaken, and i think there was a shiny noctowl aswell

Ditto is always a pinkish purple.
Its shiny form is a bright blue... o_O

I also remember there being a shiny shuckle in one episode during the johto series and I think a guy named Harrison had a shiny magneton and used that in the Johto League.

Saw a Metagross in one of the episodes. I also watch the Japanese episode with the Shiny Ditto.

There have been alot, There have been shinies of Magicarp, Laprass, Metagross, Ditto, Donphan, noctowl, Magneton, Gyradose, Swellow, Dustox, Shuckle, Pichu, Rayquaza And I'm sure others I can't recall off the top of my head... For other oddly colored ones there was a pink butterfree in season 1, and island of Pink Pokemon in Orange Islands. Also the Lapras that is Ash's Lapras's mom is green

My goal is to make a list of the episodes that have shinies in them and watch them just for the fun of it.

To add to the discussion, does anyone remember what happened in some of these episodes? And which shiny in the anime was your favorite?

I checked ----- actually, and then the ones they didn't have in their shiny anime database, I researched in the episode guide by memory since Ive seen every episode before.

There has also been a Purple Keckleon in the Mystery Dungeon Anime, and a Red Keckleon in the Master Quest season of the main anime but I guess neither of em count as shiny, just different.

I've been watching the anime from the start over again, and just hit the Johto League. I haven't noticed any shinies yet though.

There are a lot of pokemon that are different-colored in the anime, but not necessarily shiny. I think those are cool. Like Ash's butterfree's little girlfriend.

I liked the part in the island with the pink pokemon where Pikachu's cheeks turned pink. So cute!

LOL yes it was! ^_^ I think the first true shiny in the anime is Noctowl. Then Gyradose!

It was a Gold Sudowoodo so not actually shiny.

Guys, dont you find it ironic that ash would find a shiny so quickly and some of us have never found one at all? Darn you ash. Darn you.

Ash's Noctowl is a legit shiny. it sparkles when it comes out of its pokeball.
But Hot_Chick named them all and their episodes.
