What is your method to get rare pokemon in HG nd SS?

My method is making many friends and then trade.
And yours what is or are?

Mine is kinda the same i just get on serebii or something like that to trade

My method is luck ive gotten 9 shiny random encounters in ss 3 in the same day,
ditto (safari zone), smeargle (safari zone), magby (egg) [all in same day]

Aerodactyle (egg), charmander (steven), suicune (yes sf reset), machoke, geodude, onix

only one was meant to be suicune still only took 1 hr 3oo somthing sf resets ive traded all but ditto for evds or shiny evds on serebii so im with u guys too

trade from my platinum game XD i have pretty much everything thanks to my borrowing of GBA games~

Never use repels, run in grass a lot, always have 5 eggs!

serebii! great to get shineys/rares

i go on serebii to get my shinies,, ive never found a wild shiny (D:) but i have a ton from trading on serebii

I try to look for them and what I cant find I ask for and if I hav seen it GTS here I come ^^

I just keep using platinum an my GBA games

serebii, and luck. i've gotten 3 legit shinies (not counting gyrados) in my ss. mewtwo (no soft resets) machop, and dratini from an egg.

can you tell if the pokemon is shiny or not by the sprite on gts?
