The Title is temporary, I promise. >.>

Here I go with my first Fanfic on pokemon, I have a lot to learn so please, comment and critique. It'd be very helpful. :)

Rated: PG-13 For Mild violence and/or swear (which would be blocked out with asterisk)

< Chapter One>

Nicholas was walking at a slow but steady pace to the pokemon center. He gazed over the meadows of Floroma town as the sunset gleamed above him. Inside of him was excitement, eagerness, and joy, Nicholas would get a starter pokemon.

Down a few feet on his path, Nicholas spotted a familiar face, an acquaintance. The boy turned in Nick’s direction as they locked eye contact and waved.

“Well, If it isn’t little boy Nicholas getting his first pokemon?” The boy remarked with a smirk on his face as he approached Nick. Archie had on a black leather jacket and wore a dog tag necklace; he was wearing a gray undershirt and blue jeans that had some tears in it, and a belt wrapped around his waist. His black hair was a mess as if a tornado came by and messed it up.

“What do you want Archie?” Nick scowled, glaring at his ‘theme’ he tried to make with his outfit.

“I was just wondering what pokemon your going to get,” He said innocently. “I’m leaving today, so I just wanted to say goodbye.”

Even though Nick barely knew Archie, he would of never expected him to be nice.
“Oh, okay. Why are you leaving?” Nick asked.

A grin appeared on Archie’s face as he took out a ball from his pocket with red on one side and white on the other. He clicked the middle of the pokeball as it enlarged and dropped it to the ground. Still keeping eye contact with Nick, the pokeball released a buizel sniffing the unfamiliar ground and air.

“I got a pokemon too.” he grinned.

“no.” Nick stated.

“yea! You can see it can’t you?” He questioned waving his hand in front of me.

“Yea I can see it,” I said. “but why? I mean, I don’t see you being a trainer one bit.”

“well, I am.” Archie dropped the subject. “Anyway, I have a pokemon, your going to have a pokemon, you know? Get the picture?”

“Um-”

“We could go on this expedition together. I have a picture in mind that we would be unstoppable.”

“What make’s you think that” Nick asked. It was hard to believe that he was older than Nick but he was the one that wanted to join Nick. Why me? Nick thought to himself. Nick redirected his attention to the buizel that was tugging on his Trousers.

“I just know that. And that is,” Archie coughed, “if you wanted to join. I don’t care either way,” Archie then gazed at a house as if he wouldn’t care if He respond.

“I’d rather work on my own.” Nick finally said. He brushed the clinging buizel off of him and advanced towards the Pokemon Center.

~~~
As Nicholas entered the Pokemon center, he was delighted by the trainers and their pokemon with them. Some came for training while others were injured and needed special treatments.
Nick was rummaging through the crowd in the lobby and approached the lady at the counter with a red banner with a picture of a pokeball, that are given to new trainers. It shows that the trainer are in look for a starter pokemon.
The lady at the counter gleamed and told Nick to wait until he was called up again.
Waiting was not an option if Nick had to wait more than ten minute. His knuckles began to bear white after clenching them for so long.
Nick was called up in about half an hour and was escorted to a room behind the Pokemon main lobby.
The chill of going behind the Pokemon Center led his imagination run wild. Nick wouldn’t expect for the lady to hurt him, or have a swarm of pokemon after him, but it just seemed like it. He wasn’t sure if was pleasant to go here or if it was just his excitement.
“Okay, Nicholas, Granted here are 4 Pokemon. You decide which one to choose and it will be your fullest responsibility to take care of it” The lady who Nick met at the counter said; He didn’t quite get her name.
She continued her lecture but Nick was somewhere else in his imagination.
“So choose, which will it be?”
Nick looked at the four pokemon that were eagerly waiting to be called upon. Nick’s eye only gazed at the little pink water pokemon. It’s possible that only wants the shellos because of Crasher Wake and his water pokemon.
Ooh, I got to get her. She’s a water type and the rest of them aren’t. Nick thought.
He snapped back to attention. “Oh, I will take shellos.”
The other pokemon showed their grin faintly as it disappeared. Nick took the pokeball that shellos was in and returned her.
The lady seemed a bit fallen back when Nick told her he wanted the shellos. “You were listening right?” She asked, as if he wasn’t paying attention. “The other pokemon I said were combee, glameow, and budew, you sure you want shellos?”
“Yea.” Nick said getting rid of my grin and looking straight at her. He clutched the pokeball as tight as possible and headed back home
I wonder if Archie is still out. Nick wondered.
~~~

As if Archie read his mind, there he was standing.

“Nick,” He waved, and then he looked at the red and white ball Nick was holding on to. “You got a Pokemon!” Archie didn’t appear in my sight until Nick was halfway back home. The sun wasn’t waiting for him and he needed to get out of any conversation as fast as possible.

“Yea... I haven’t met her yet. she’s a shellos,” That didn't end the conversation.

“A shellos you say.” Archie pulled out a glossy red rectangular figure and fingered with it. The Pokedex read out a description of Nick shellos. “Hm. So it can come in two colors.”

“I guess so.” Nick said monotony even though he was beaming with excitement on the inside.

“Hey,” Archie said, “You want to battle?”

Nick didn’t want to battle him right away, he doesn’t know much about shellos’s move pool so how would he expect to win. “Um,”

“Heck, never mind. I need to get going, the moon is rising and I still need some items to buy,” Archie smirked as he dashes out of sight.

~~~
“Okay shellos,” Nick said, “I know we haven’t talked but I guess we could talk now.”
By the time Nick made it to his house, it was already nighttime. He was in no rush to actually leave his house for the night, and morning will come when it needs to.
Nick’s mom came inside and her heart skipped a beat as she saw shellos roaming around Nick.
“Mom, this is my shellos.” He said as she entered the door from work.
“Oh my,” Nick’s mom, Mrs. Teimelle, said.
“It’s cool isn’t it?” Nick beamed.
Cool wasn't the word Mrs. Teimelle would of said. She hesitantly stammered back.
“Why are you so scared of it?” Nick asked. “It’s not as bad as a ditto, weren’t you a pokemon trainer once?”
Before Nick’s mom could answer, his dad, Mr. Teimelle, came out of his room and saw the pink pokemon.
“So, this is your pokemon.” Mr. Teimelle stated.
“Yea, she’s pretty cool huh?”
He petted the crown-looking thing on his forehead and declared something smiling. “The shellos is a boy. And not to old either,” He stated.
“Really? How would you know that?” Nick asked curiously.
Mr. Teimelle dropped the subject, knowing that it would be to complicated on such a specie.
Mrs. Teimelle opened to shellos some more and beamed at his (or her) golden lines.
The rest of the day followed like any other day, but only this time, Nick was a Pokemon Trainer, and he will train for experience.
[Note]: I HATED the ending. I wish I could do better on that. Anyways. Here's my first chapter. Shall I continue? Maybe. This story kinda came on it's own, The fanfic I really want to write is still not in my reach.
<Chapter Two>
ROUTE 204 -> Jubilife City
BEWARE OF WILD POKEMON YOU MAY ENCOUNTER WHILE CROSSING THIS ROUTE. POKEMON TRAINERS ARE WARNED.
Route 204 was filled with so many stuff, that the first step made you believe that you were miles away from home. Grass was waist high, and Nick would of believed that if he didn’t watch his step, he would sink into the grass.
He was lavished with trees standing at his side. Deep within those groves lived the wild and fierce pokemons. Nick obviously wouldn't stray too far to get him in that kind of trouble.
Nick Rummaged through the shrubs always looking around him, at his map, and everywhere else. Constantly, he would hear the shrill of a shinx or a bidoof. He would see swarms of starlys flying above him. Nick hated to admit it, but he was nervous.
Archie, walking in circles, was only a mere few yards away from Nick.
“Archie! What are you doing here?” Nick said in surprise as he ran to him. “aren’t you supposed to be further down this route?”
“Yea, but I got lost.” Archie murmured.
Nick had only been here for half an hour but to get lost that quick? he kind of sought out that Archie was more childish then he was. It was embarrassing to say the least.
“How could you get lost that quickly?!” He yelled.
“Well, as I left last night, I was--”
Immediately, Nick knew what went on. “You left at night? What’s wrong with you! You didn’t expect NOT to get lost at night if you don’t have a flashlight.”
“Hey, how about that battle we were talking about?” Archie grinned, the last thing he wanted was to get lectured by a little kid.
“Fine!” Nick declared. All morning and night Nick took the time to check shellos’s move pool so that he would know what to use in a battle.
~~~

They sought out a clearance and took 20 paces away from each other. Nick turned and met Archie eye as they both dropped their pokeball. The bright light illuminated the forest and out released two pokemons to their respective owner.

Buizel eyed shellos suspiciously, and shellos was giving him back a cold stare. Archie made the first command.

“Buizel. Start it off with watergun,” Archie said, signaling the buizel.

The little weasel conjured up some water in it’s mouth as it blasted a forceful shot of water. The attacked missed only to hit the soil a foot away from the shellos. Dirt sprayed as the pink pokemon covered his eyes.

“Shellos, waterpulse,” Nick commanded.

Shellos shook off the dirt and formed a ring of water and blasted toward the other water-type pokemon. The poor buizel was drenched in water, but he was even more angry.

Without command, buizel charged at the sea slug. He bolted in such a speed that dust was lifting off his track.

Shellos was blown back by buizels quick attack landing in front of his trainer. “Shellos. Harden.” Nick said, looking down at the shellos with grief.

“Buizel, quick attack again!”

Before shellos could even tense up, buizel was already there knocking shellos back a few feet. Shellos fell to the ground, but, this time, he didn’t get up. The match was given to Archie and his buizel as they stood tall and proud of themselves.

“Hm, seems like I won,” Archie gleamed. “good battle” He grinned putting an hand out.
“Make sure you look at your map more clearly next time so you don’t get lost.” Nick said, shaking Archie’s hand.

“I’m going back home, I- uh forgot something. You don’t have to come if you don’t want to.”

“I never was going to go with you in the first place,” Nick stated, but Archie already left. “let’s go shellos,” Nick said as he returned the weakened pokemon and continued.

~~~
Nick allowed shellos to rest until he could get his full energy back before they continued. The sun was high up in the air, beaming down at them through the tree branch. It has only been a few hours since Nick departed, but he did not encounter any trainers, so far; he only saw the pokemons as they scurried away.
It was obvious that Nick would of got tired, but never this soon. How he want’s to continue, his brain wouldn’t let him move a muscle. All nick could do was relax on a tree trunk, enjoy the shade, and rest.
Some time later, Nick woke up. His eyes hovered over the trees and the grass. Next to him was his backpack, which shellos was in.
He stood up and yawned, stretching his limbs. It was time to continue.
Nick continued walking for another half hour until he saw a pokemon he wanted.
The pale blue pokemon paced himself across the lake. It’s yellow beak occasionally pecking at the ground. The webbed duck like pokemon stood on two feet like a human would. Above it’s eyes was a red jewel.
The golduck didn’t see Nick yet and he don’t want shellos to take a bet on it. He grabbed an empty pokeball and positioned himself. Steadily, he released the pokeball out of his hand as it flew and bonked on golduck’s head. Almost within a heartbeat did the pokeball opened to the golduck’s surprise as a red beam pulled in the pokemon.
As it jittered and wobbled Nick ran and knelt infront of it, he was prepared to grab my pokeball when it stopped.
It stopped, all right, but not the way Nick predicted; the golduck broke free.
It’s eyes were glowing red. This time, it saw Nick, and charged.
He panicked as he scrambled back onto his leg. Never in his life would he think he’d come across this. Running, the golduck began to pick up speed. Nick ran as fast as his little leg could take him, hoping dearly that he wouldn’t get hurt. He ran off the route and into the tall grass patches. As he looked behind him, the golduck was still chasing him.
Nick trembled, losing energy, but still ran. He began to shriek. The golduck released a blast of water that jetted Nick off a hill and sent him rolling. Nick’s skin cried in pain as the thorns crossed his face. He was in pain, but he still got up and ran.
He ran.
He didn’t dare look back.
Nick was obviously not paying attention to the oncoming obstacle as he tripped over a tree root.
He fell sideways, which pained him as his thigh collapsed on a sharp rock. to Nick’s ankle was painfully twisted when the tree caught his foot.
As he turned and looked up, he saw his fate coming, his face dirtied with sweat, and tears. Not only was the golduck bloodshot eyes approaching him, but they were other pokemon with it; a bibarel and a luxio.
He has breathing heavily. Nick’s pokemon journey would end; his life would end too. He embraced, He could only close his eyes, and meet his fate.
A watergun was darted at the other pokemon. Looking behind him, Nick spotted a boy er, a teen with a prinplup and a luxio at his side.
The teen, who was about Archie’s age, hauled me up to my foot.
“You alright lil' buddy?” He asked
“Yea, Im fine.” Nick stumbled on his ankle but was pulled up again.
“You got lost here didn’t ya’. Let’s take you out of here, Floroma town ain't that far away from here.” His luxio electrified the pokemon as they were left paralyzed
Nick broke in. “Oh, wait. I- I was going to Jubilife C-city”
“Oh, Jubilife! Seems like you backtracked, lil’ buddy. ‘kay I will take you as far as possible there. Jubilife is a cool place to hang out, but it is a few days away. I can only take you so far.” He said. “By the way, I’m Freddie.”
“I’m...Nick” Nick stated. As Nick turned, he saw the shinx and prinplup in fighting fit, as the rest were still shuddering by the paralyze.
[Note]: =.= In my head, I was excited to write this part, but as I see it now, I just want to rip it up and start over.
I was to lazy to do that, so I revised it to the best of my skills.
Tell me what you think about it, but especially tell me what is wrong. (I feel that I can see a million things wrong with this story). Thanks
