Recommend Me Some Anime

Hi, I'm looking for a new anime series to watch. I prefer anime without tons of episodes and without excessive immaturity (so Lucky Star for instance wouldn't exactly be up my alley). Below is a list of some of the stuff I've watched/read and enjoyed, just to give an idea of the type of stuff I like. I've placed my comments in spoiler tags, just in case they give away part of the story.

Pokemon is a great anime.

Yeah I know. Neither Pokemon or Full Metal Alchemist... He's my brother he won't watch those.

If you liked GTO, you would probably like Gokusen. It only has 13 episodes, I believe. I like the Japanese drama better, to be honest. Because the fighting scenes are great and I like the messages it sends. But the anime is pretty good.

There is D. Gray-man, which sounds like it would be up your alley, but it does have 103 episodes. =[

If I think of any more, I'll definitely tell you.

I'll be sure to look into Gosuken. As for D. Gray-man, I read like the first two mangas but if I remember correctly, I think I read somewhere that it was a romance series so I left it alone. I'm not sure though since that was like 4 years ago.

The first link doesn't list it in the genres and they normally do even if there's even the slightest amount of romance.

The second link does say that there's romance in it. But it's more of a background story thing. And it mentions the manga. And the do tend to change romantic aspects when changing from manga to anime.
Romance, maybe?

Just finished Paranoia Agent. Liked it a lot (thoughts are in a spoiler on the first post). Looked up an overview of Gokusen and I'll be starting that today.

Watch Loveless. Short, but effective. You can find them all easily on youtube. It's kinda really girly-ish, but you know what? It owns, so I highly recommend it.

As for the topic, I like Hajime no Ippo.
I just started it but it's a really enjoyable anime.
One of those "coming of age" anime with boxing.
And occasional crude humor
and boxing.

I'm going to go ahead and recommend Saiyuki. It has really funny moments while being pretty action-y. Also:

Angel Sanctuary (the manga is longer >_>)
Gungrave (my personal favorite)
Trigun (if you haven't seen it already)
Hellsing (Pretty neat for a vampire anime)
Hitman Reborn

Mononoke (NOT PRINCESS MONONOKE.)
Kara no Kyoukai (pretty violent though)
Canaan (not for the squeamish)

I'm not sure that he's going to like Loveless, as he's not that into romance. But that is a good series.

I reccomend Eureka 7 all the way its the best anime ibe seen lol!!!

I can't get past the way Eureka 7 is drawn. Same with others like s-cry-ed, One Piece, and Code Geass.

Really? I LOVE the way they did Code Geass. But I do agree with you; the art is usually a deciding factor when I watch/read something. Bad art ruins the whole thing.

Yeah, it's like with Code Geass, everyone's all tall and super lanky. I'm like wtf? Pick up a fork or something and EAT before a light breeze comes along and blows you away. Oh yeah, add Bleach to the list of stuff that's weirdly drawn.

Trinity Blood, Ghost in the Shell (the newer one, not that the older one is bad though), and Death Note are a few examples of the type of drawing that I like.

How about Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggan. It made me a little GAR (look up on urban Dictionary if u dont know the meaning). Epic Story.
High School of the Dead is a new manga / anime. This has me on the edge of my seat (P.S. it's graphic so M+ folks)

God ive seen/read a couple great anime/manga but none seems to come to mind at the moment. (hates when that happens)

some stuff that i like is samurai champloo, cowboy bebop, trigun, gungrave all of those are pretty short i think 26 episodes each? or somewhere around there.

blood + is also pretty great.
